FFFW™ Has Arrived
Sorry so quiet, but boy am I overbooked.
My regular job has gone a little nuts (we’re three people down as of next Friday—at the absolutely busiest time of the year). And Full Figured Fashion Week™ starts tomorrow. And even with all this craziness, I am really happy that six months ago I sent a Facebook email to Gwen Devoe asking if she needed a publicity gal to work on this year’s event. It’s been so hard, and so fun. All the folks involved in the event have been warm and welcoming and fantastic and I’m proud to work alongside them (even if most of the time we’ve done the work virtually through the interwebs). I like to get out of my element. I was honest with Gwen and told her I hadn’t done fashion PR, but as it turns out—PR is PR. And so I found that my book publicity skills are delightfully transferable.
So tomorrow, all the virtual people will be in one place. And even though right now it seems daunting (and fortunately, I’ve got a day off the paying job tomorrow), I know that it’s all going to work out after a few intense hours in front of the computer tomorrow morning (tonight I am burnt toast).
If you’re in NYC, I hope to see you at some of the events this week. I’ll be the frantic looking chick with a cell phone in her hand, and the Hello Kitty notebook. Come on over and say hi. I’d love to meet you.
FFFW™ Coverage:
An article about Qristyl Frazier, one of FFFWeek’s featured designers.
The press release about the launch of Sonsi.com. *Sonsi rocks—and they’re our title sponsor. It’s such a good feeling when everyone you meet at a company is fantastic and lovely. And I’m not just saying that. I may be a PR flack, but I’m an honest PR flack.
Here’s an article from our friends in the North about Lotis. Can’t wait to see this line in person.
A shout-out in Time Out New York.
JMS is another sponsor—they’ll be launching their Fall 2010 line this week. My mom buys lots of JMS, and she’s one of the most fashionable chicks I know. She rocks their clothes.
There are so many other things I’m excited about. The Pure Energy line. Yulia Raquel’s work at Igigi. Osun Designs. Our amazing line-up of models. And our bloggers. Oh, this is going to be fun, isn’t it?
